Melt.

Nothing has measured the passage of time for me more than living on the lake this past year. I always thought the winters would be depressing with a barren, white tundra for a backyard but it has been amazingly serene these last few months. And of course watching ice fishermen freeze on buckets was kind of entertaining. 

But now the birds are back in all their chirping glory and every day the lake becomes more and more exposed. There is just something about the anticipation of summer that gets me all giddy. Here are a few last shots of the lake in frozen form (Spoiler alert: this portion of the lake is entirely thawed out now).
